The Highland Sharks Swim Team is collecting non-perishable and canned food for "Swim for Food" both at the pool and at the Championship meets.

This is a friendly competition among all the swim clubs to see who can collect the most goods by weight.  You may also make a monetary donation which is worth 5lbs. for every $4.00 collected.  This is a wonderful cause and helps stock the food pantries in NJ.
 
As always we know we can count on our members to help in this effort.  Please bring your items either to the pool over the next week or -- for swim team families -- to the Championship meet at Westfield Memorial Pool on July 29 & 30.

No bottles or glass/ceramic dishes allowed!  We ask that your bring your food & drinks in cans, plastic bottles & dishes so we don't risk breaking glass where swimmers walk with bare feet!

NEW DECKS OF PLAYING CARDS!

Highland kids love to swim - but sometimes need a break from the sun - encourage them to play games in the Grove! 

Ladies of Highland!

Please join us for a Ladies Luncheon with our friends from Willow Grove Swim Club.  This year's event will be hosted here at Highland on Sunday, June 26 at 11:30 AM. 

The cost is $20 per person.  Please RSVP by June 20! 

The Membership Committee will be hosting tours of  the club grounds for prospective members! Why not bring a friend and try the fun!

The club is again enacting a $25 work bond for the 2011 season. The bond will be waived for members who volunteer an hour of their time.   

General Tasks   8:30-11 am

April 23—Clean up of grove and front

April 30—Clean up, fence in baby pool, spread wood chips, other

May 1—Clean up, fence in baby pool, spread wood chips, other

May 7—Power wash, spread chips and mulch

May 14—Power wash, set up chairs/tables, other

May 21—Plant flowers, finish getting pool ready

An additional day(s) may be added at the end of the summer season.

Do you know a few people who might be interested in joining our club… a friend, new neighbors, a family looking for a great summer swim team, a tri-athlete looking to log some swim time?   

To make membership more attractive, we are offering something new this year. For the first time, new members will have the option to defer full payment of the bond for up to two years with the option to begin paying in three installments after the first year. They will be required to pay the bond in full no later than April 1 of the second year of membership. Our hope is that this will make the cost of joining our club easier for families looking to join a pool club.

Now is the time to talk up our great swim club.  At the bottom of this note is a link to a flyer about Highland that you can share with prospective  members – we invite you to  print it out as needed.  Don’t forget that there is also a lot of information about the club on our website too, www.hscpool.com.
